About Future Needs
Future Needs is an interdisciplinary communication and social science research SME based in Cyprus. Its team combines expertise in science communication, inclusive digital service design, policy evaluation, business development, and project management.
Future Needs specialises in shaping technologies to fit the needs of practitioners and end users. The team brings together emerging technology trends, creativity, youth entrepreneurship, and a start-up mindset. It helps clients communicate their research, elicit user requirements for new products and services, and develop R&D roadmaps leading to commercialisation.
The company also supports public and not-for-profit clients in conducting Impact Assessments and policy evaluations in line with the European Commission’s better regulation guidelines.
Future Needs engages in their activities a wide range of stakeholders, from technical experts and industry leaders to policymakers and citizen groups. Its sector experience spans information technology, healthcare, transport, education, migration, regional development, and finance.

Future Needs’ Role in UrbanAIR
In UrbanAIR, Future Needs leads the Dissemination, Communication, and Exploitation activities and plays an active role in stakeholder engagement and service co-design.
Strategic Communication Planning & Scientific-to-Public Communication
As part of its leadership role, Future Needs is developing the project’s Communication and Dissemination strategy, including KPIs, timelines, and long-term visibility planning through the use of use of various communication channels such as social media, press releases, newsletters, and conference participation. This framework will guide UrbanAIR’s outreach throughout the project’s lifecycle.
A key element of Future Needs’ work is to translate highly complex scientific outputs (such as climate models, simulations, and digital twin insights) into clear, accessible communication materials that non-technical audiences can understand and act upon.
A key aspect of this work is , by shaping communication around the project’s alignment with the Destination Earth initiative, Future Needs helps position UrbanAIR within Europe’s broader digital-twin ecosystem.
Establishing a Consistent Project Identity: Branding Across All Channels
As the leader of the Dissemination, Communication, and Exploitation activities for UrbanAIR, Future Needs played a foundational role in establishing the project’s public image. This involved designing and implementing a cohesive visual identity and consistent branding across all official communication channels to ensure maximum visibility and clear, unified messaging.
Future Needs' expertise in translating the project's mission into a recognisable brand, lead to the development of the project’s official logo, color palette, and visual assets. The team then strategically applied this new visual identity across UrbanAIR's digital & printed materials by developing a suite of visual materials. These include the project's professional presence on LinkedIn and Bluesky, as well as other materials like brochures, posters, templates, and future video content, and ensure UrbanAIR communicates consistently and effectively across all platforms.

Guiding the exploitation strategy and impact planning
Alongside communication, Future Needs is responsible for guiding the project’s Exploitation and IPR activities. This includes mapping innovation pathways, identifying potential adopters, and preparing the basis for long-term impact and sustainability of UrbanAIR tools.
Supporting stakeholder engagement and capacity-building
Future Needs will support engagement activities with municipalities, stakeholders, and wider community groups, by co-organising User Committee meetings and workshops. These activities aim to integrate decision-maker needs and preferences into the UrbanAIR digital twin development and ensure that UrbanAIR’s tools and messages reflect the needs of real urban users.
In parallel, by contributing to co-design and capacity-building activities Future Needs will ensure the digital twin tool is user-friendly, impactful, and aligned with urban resilience needs.These activities will
